Is talking about doing deals, raising capital, exciting new markets and passive investing more exciting than talking about laws and regulations? Probably... But, one easy way to lose money is to be oblivious to forthcoming changes in the real estate regulatory environment. To help us see into the future regarding the possible changes in the regulatory landscape, an all-star panel, moderated by Melanie McDaniel, was assembled at the Intelligent Investors Real Estate Conference from this past January. Kaaren Hall is the CEO of uDirect IRA Services, where she has helped thousands of Americans invest their IRA outside of the stock market into real estate, land, private notes & more to improve their financial future. James Bohan is the founder of Stonehan Accountancy, where he provides accounting and tax solutions to real estate syndicators, funds & small businesses. Peter Fischer is a partner with Sklar Kirsh LLP and a member of the Firmʼs Real Estate and Corporate Departments. He is an experienced commercial real estate transactional attorney, whose clients include developers, operators, syndicators, private equity providers, restaurateurs, investors and lenders. In this episode, these panelists discuss... How recently proposed legislation could have had devastating impacts on investing through self- directed retirement accounts, and how we can guard against such legislation in the future Potential tax changes to monitor closely that could impact real estate investors The current status of potential legislation pertaining to raising capital To your success, Tyler Lyons Interested in investing in ATMs? Check out our webinar.   Please note that investing in private placement securities entails a high degree of risk, including illiquidity of the investment and loss of principal. With inflation, rents, real estate prices at all-time highs, and with interest rates, stocks, and bonds moving all over the place, there is a lot of tension in the investment environment.  However, now is a better time than ever to position yourself to take advantage of the building economic situation. Today, I’m bringing you the most popular panel from IIREC 2022 with Bob Fraser, Mark Moss, and Jeremy Roll, so that we can reevaluate whose predictions are coming true and what we should be doing with our portfolios! <<>> Bob Fraser is an engineer by trade and in 1995 founded NetSales, Inc., a back-office e-commerce provider for which he raised $44 million in investment capital. In 2012, Bob co-founded Aspen Funds, a fund management company focused on mortgage investments and he is an expert with regard to commercial real estate economics. Mark Moss is an influential thought leader in the world of finance and investing and has over 340 thousand subscribers on his YouTube channel. He is a start-up and growth expert, having grown 6 companies to over 7 figures each, all within their first year. He has a drive for better than market returns but balances that with a solid philosophy of “Capital Preservation” that helps minimize losses. Jeremy Roll is one of my first mentors in real estate investing and has been passively investing since 2002. He is an expert on vetting operators and analyzing emerging macroeconomic trends. He is an amazing role model for anyone looking to live off the cash flow of their passive investments! In this episode, these gentlemen discuss… Where we are in the market cycle and what to expect in the coming months. What the difference is between asset-price inflation and CPI, and why inflation may last. Why do some people expect stagflation this year and how this would affect us. How political pressures influence the investing environment. <<>> If you want to hear what some extremely successful investors are thinking about the current market situation, you should definitely check out this very exciting debate! One thing that we can all agree on is that the past couple of years have brought unprecedented social and financial changes. And, it should come as no surprise that these macro factors have had a significant impact on real estate. However, with so many significant and disparate factors impacting the real estate market, how can investors anticipate where the puck is going in 2022 and beyond? To help us navigate this sea of uncertainty, David Coe moderated a panel entitled "What BIG Trends Do Real Estate Investors Need to Know" at IIREC 2022, that featured investors who have a broad view on the real estate industry. Aaron Norris is the VP of The Norris Group, which provides hard money to real estate investors in Florida and California. TNG also builds-to-rent (B2R) SFRs in Florida and trains real estate investors about the importance that timing plays in investment strategy. Tyler Lyons is an active real estate professional and the Director of Investments at Asym Capital, where he helps investors to invest passively in commercial real estate alongside world class real estate operators. At Asym Capital, Tyler is responsible for investor relations, fund management, and due diligence for new investment opportunities. Keith Eich is a customer and advisor to Tribevest, as well as the Mayor Pro Tem for La Canada Flintridge. With his background working in city government, Keith brought a unique perspective to this panel discussion. In this episode, these panelists discuss... With all of the governmental financial intervention since the start of the pandemic, what do investors need to be aware of? As the Millennial and Gen Z generations come into maturity, what impact will this have on the real estate market? How the panelists see “work” evolving and what opportunities this might provide for real estate investors? With the rise of crypto and blockchain, how might that change the real estate industry and what types of crypto private investments might be compelling?
